Firstly I would like to start by introducing myself as the new Chair of Governors, having been elected by the governing body to take on this very important position. Our previous chair, Linda Bennett will continue as Vice Chair and I would like to place on record the thanks of all governors for the fantastic work she has done over the past two years.
As a governing body we are very aware that we have not updated you all on the academisation process since May this year. At the time Linda confirmed that the process was taking time due to the rigorous due diligence process; we are a large school with some complex land and building matters that needed to be resolved before we were able to become part of the Rightforsuccess Trust. All parties concerned needed to ensure that everything was in place for a successful transition.
We have now received confirmation from the Local Authority that the due diligence process has been concluded and as a result I am pleased to confirm that we can now move forward with our conversion. The date we are targeting to complete the conversion is 1st December 2017.
The school has made significant progress over the past few years due to the hard work and commitment of all staff and as a governing body we believe that Rightforsuccess are the correct trust for Sprowston Community High to build on this progress; by complementing and supporting the continued improvements evident in our school couched within a child centred ethos. Being part of a group of schools (commonly referred to as a MAT – Multi-Academy Trust) will bring additional opportunities for both students and staff.
Many thanks to you all for your continued support to the school.
