The Sixth Form Employability Skills Award is well underway. Students are taking part in a wide range of volunteering roles both in and outside of school to help develop skills they can use either at university or in a work place setting.
12 Year 12 and 13 students have recently started volunteering at Cecil Gowing Infant School on a weekly basis.
Thanks you to Sandjeda Ali, Jemma Shingles, Karl Gilbert, Michaela Bailey, Georgia Buller, Sharmin Chowdhry, Madison Mayes, Seyma Oz, Rubya Miah, Ella Shemilt, Lucy Drane and Carly Sales. Well done for making a difference and helping out at one of our feeder schools.
After half term 13 sixth form students will be starting the Maths Mentoring programme with a small group of C/D borderline Year 11 students to help them move towards achieving a C grade in their GCSE exam.
Other Employability Scheme volunteering taking place this half term includes paired reading and mentoring in The Arc, Biology and the Creative Arts subjects.
Well done to those students who have been taking part in the Employability Skills Award programme this half term. You are helping make a real difference to the lives of younger students not only in our school but in the wider Sprowston Community.
