On Tuesday I met with the Year 7s who have the highest Attitude to Learning grades in the Year Group.

They had a pizza lunch ordered in and certainly seemed to enjoy their reward. Well done to them all.

It was great to meet with the Year 7s who had been nominated by their tutors to receive an award (and Easter egg!). Tutors gave a variety of positive reasons and recommendations for these students.

I am really impressed with their attitude and the way they are conducting themselves in Year 7.

  • Mr Setchell and Mrs Wind-Avery welcomed 40 Year 6 students from Sprowston Junior School and Falcon Junior School.

Year 6 students arrived and came prepared with knowledge of vocabulary in one of the three languages French, German or Spanish.

  • We have had a fantastic day today welcoming students from Sprowston Jr, Falcon Jr and Frettenham to take part in several transition to High School events.

Year 6s from Sprowston and Falcon Jr took part in our 'MFL' breakfast, run by some of our top Year 7 linguists. It was great fun and we look forward to hosting another one in the future.

  • This morning I met with those students in Year 7 who have achieved a Silver Certificate for Achievement Points.

This means that they have already been awarded over 30 Achievement Points from their subject teachers for a number of positive reasons. I am really impressed with these young students and their attitude.

  • What a game!! Year 7s have continued their unbeaten run winning 5-2 against Norwich High. Everyone was AMAZING #Hardwork #OneProudTeacher

  • A summary of parents & carers views for years 7, 9, 10 and 11 has been compiled to show how well the school is performing in certain areas.

  • Well done to Jack R in year 7 on creating an excellent presentation showing formulae in use.

  • Fantastic to meet with the Year 7 students with the top ATLs for the Spring Term so far. They are obviously making a really good impression in lessons and working hard.

    Well done folks!

    Mr Setchell

  • These students have achieved the highest Attitude to learning grades in Year 7 in the second half of the Autumn Term.

To achieve this means they have worked very hard and to a consistently high level in all their lessons.

    Well done to them all.

  • A hugely enjoyable Year 7 End of Year assembly this morning. Around 60 thoroughly deserved awards from all departments and Tutors and some outstanding singing from four of our Year 7s, Laura, Lauren, Chloe and Anya - so impressive!

The Year 7 competition was very close and 7SN just topped the other Groups and will have their pizza lunch at the start of next term.

  • We held a special assembly for Year 7 on Thursday 8th December where we invited a number of guests from different occupational backgrounds.  The whole idea was to inspire the pupils to challenge gender stereotypes in the workplace.

  • A lot to celebrate over the last few days

    • Yr7's historic victory in Basketball - well done boys!
    • An excellent presentation on Road Safety by City College, organised by Miss Blackthorn which the Year 7s were really engaged in.
    • Well done to 7VJ for winning the Achievement Point challenge - they had a well-deserved Pizza lunch today - yum!
    • Finally, well done to all those who took part in the Enterprise Extravaganza and 'Mann Made Goods' for being awarded 1st place!

    Mr Setchell

    Head of Year 7

  • This term so far has been really exciting in the Library. Each month we have been on a trip to meet famous children’s authors. In September a group of Librarians met Julian Sedwick and participated in a creative writing workshop led by him, focussing on developing characters in stories.

  • The following students have achieved the highest ATLs in Year 7 at Tracking 1 - this is a refection of their hard work and the positive start they have made at Sprowston. Well done!

    Mr Setchell

    Head of Year 7

  • It was great to be able to congratulate the Year 7s on a really positive start to their time at Sprowston Community High School.

    Well done to you all.

7VJ won the Achievement Points competition and have set the bar for this half term.

I hope you had a restful holiday!
